OUTREACH

GROW = Go Reach Our World
Tuesday nights from 7:00to 8:15pm we gather to demonstrate care through the GROW inreach/outreach ministry. Participants come to visit, call, write, pray or provide childcare as we seek to reach out to the community and reach in to the DBC family for effective ministry. The individual commitment is for one Tuesday a month.

Church Planting
As we pursue our vision to be an 'impact church', one of the ways we believe God would have us do this is through helping to plant new churches. We sponsor a Japanese Chapel, which meets in our facility for worship, and Sunday School on Sunday mornings. This is led by Pastor Masashi Sugita. ? We ?launched an Hispanic Chapel in 2004. This is led by pastor Gary Fisher. We are also actively involved in the Czech Republic, where we are working with our SBC International Mission Board to start a new work. We started short-term Mission Trips in 1997 and have completed 13 trips to the Czech Republic as of March 2005. These trips include showing the Jesus Film, leading conversational English groups, and encouraging our missionaries.

Evangelism Explosion (EE)

Literacy Missions

We have many dedicated volunteers at Dublin Baptist Church that help make our conversational English as a Second Language program a 15 year success!  Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:00, we have 100 students and 40 children attend our classes and childcare. We meet from September - May, breaking during summer and school holidays.  We interview each student to determine which of our four levels of class best meet their speaking ability.  All of our students can speak some English with most having 6 years of English classes while in middle school and high school.

The majority of our students are Japanese or Korean.  Most live in the US for five years or less before returning to their country.

Our volunteers:

  • Teach classes
  • Substitute teach
  • Assist the teacher during class
  • Coordinate fellowships
  • Prepare food for fellowships
  • Set-up and serve during fellowships
