J.W. Mason, Minister of Music and Worship
Music is a dynamic way of bringing praise and worship to our God and King. In Psalm 92, the psalmist, David tells us; "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, o most high, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night." The vision of our music ministry is to fulfill the "Great Commission" by sharing the gospel through music. Our goal is to strengthen the ministry of Dublin Baptist Church by preparing our people for worship, encouraging the believer and giving hope to the lost. There is an opportunity for every attendee of Dublin Baptist Church from 4 years of age through adulthood to participate. Please join us as you feel God's call on your family to "Make a joyful noise to the Lord."
Adult Choir Ministry
Purpose Statement The purpose of the Dublin Baptist Church Adult Choir Ministry is threefold: to exalt God by faithfully serving, leading in worship and presenting a worthy sacrifice of praise; to extend Christ-like love through joyful fellowship, accountability, and the discipline of prayer; to equip the saints through opportunities to learn, listen, grow in commitment, and blend our voices. Wednesday - 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Adult Sanctuary Choir is the center of the Music Ministry. They provide music Sunday mornings as well as selections for special services and Revivals. Additionally, major productions are performed each year including a Christmas production and Easter Musical production. Nursery and child care is provided for children through grade 6 during rehearsals.
DBC Orchestra
Instrumental players have joined together to form what has become a vibrant part of the Dublin Baptist Church worship experience. The Orchestra meets Wednesday at 8 p.m. Due to the highly skilled nature of the group, an audition is necessary and can be arranged with the Minister of Music and Worship. The orchestra leads most weeks in worship and participates in special events.
Children's Choirs
Meets Sundays (September - May) Little Lambs - age 4 & 5 - 6:00 p.m. Music Makers - grades 1-3 - 6:00 p.m. Young Musicians - grades 4-6 - 6:00 p.m. Children's music at Dublin Baptist Church provides music training and allows us an opportunity to teach about God's love. Each choir will occasionally sing during the Sunday morning worship services and will complete a mission project.
